Dear Broncos -
What the f*** was that?
No seriously, what was that?
Because it couldn’t have been football. At least not “modern-day-NFL, everybody’s good” kind of football.
No. No that was definitely something beside football.
It was hot garbage.
Facing a team that to this point had only amassed four sacks in six games, you allowed six different Chiefs’ defenders to get nine sacks on Joe Flacco.
NINE!!!! I mean, that’s some rec-level bullsh*t right there.
Ranking 24th in sacks and 26th in QB hits, the Chiefs defense created pressure on 31 percent of Flacco’s dropbacks, according to Next Gen Stats. And seven players forced at least two QB disruptions.
Apparently the #Broncos' third-down play call is "SACK."

And of all the ways to lose, you let the 31st-ranked run defense - a defense that allowed an average of 7 yards per carry on first-down runs - hold you to 71 total rushing yards, an average of 3.5 yards per carry.
The last two teams to beat the Chiefs ran roughshod over that defense, including Carlos Hyde who knocked off 119 yards against the Chiefs last week. By himself.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
“We just didn’t execute, that’s just it,” Courtand Sutton said. “You all watched the same game that we watched. We just didn’t exe-”
Wait, what did you just say?
“The same game we all watched???” You’re supposed to be playing, not watching! Perhaps this is the problem!?
But I will cut you a little slack, Courtland, because you were ballin’ out there, catching six passes for 87 yards and often in clutch situations. The offense, however, couldn’t do a single thing beyond the first touchdown drive, converting just one of 13 third downs - which by the way, were almost always third-and-long.
Troy Aikman just said this #Broncos offense is "about as bad an offense as I've ever seen."
And I'm inclined to agree with him.

But defense - you’re not off the hook, either.
Even though you had to defend a very short field on two early Chiefs possessions - in which they scored only three points on each foray into the red zone - you still let a Mahomes-less team get the best of you.
The Chiefs offense was down a starting quarterback, starting guard, starting tackle, starting wide receiver - and they still scored 30 points on you (20 of them with the backup in play).
Having a tough time on the football field? Ask your doctor about playing the Denver Broncos, the cure for whatever ails your team. #BroncosCountry

So the question, Broncos, is what are you going to do about this?
I don’t want to hear, “We’ve just got to pull together,” or “there’s still a lot of ball left,” or “just keep pounding” or ... or any of that nonsense. I mean, sure, good, go for it. Whatever.
But if you’re serious about playing on this team and for this crowd, then get your mind right. You say it’s execution, so freaking execute.
Like Shelby Harris said, “You better be able to nut up and play next week.”
With nine more games, a winning season is still technically and mathematically possible.
But one more game like Thursday night, and maybe you will be better off watching instead.
Sincerely,
Broncos Country
Shelby Harris: “We got our ass thoroughly kicked. We really did.”
