LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Lakers have created enough space for another max contract and it could have Kyrie Irving’s name on it.
Marc Stein of the New York Times reports the Lakers plan to go after Kawhi Leonard and Kyrie Irving in equal measure, despite rumors that Irving has his mind set on the Brooklyn Nets.

After a trade with the Washington Wizards on Thursday, the Lakers now have $32 million in space. Signing Irving would reunite Irving and LeBron James, who won a championship together in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, Leonard’s decision is expected to come down to the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers. However, he has agreed to meet with the Lakers.
