Morning Briefing: Trade Deadline Looms as Mets Keep Fading - metsmerizedonline.com

Good morning Mets fans! On Wednesday the Mets dropped game two of the series against the San Diego Padres by a score of 7-2.

Noah Syndergaard pitched seven innings giving up four runs (three-earned) on eight hits with eight strikeouts. Syndergaard also walked an unusually high five batters.

On Thursday, the Mets take on the Padres in the rubber game. Jacob deGrom (5-7, 3.02 ERA) faces off against Eric Lauer (5-7, 4.31 ERA).

First pitch will be at 12:10 p.m. and the game can be seen on SNY.

The hard trade deadline of July 31 is now less than a week away with the Mets eight games back of a wild card spot.
